SkyView™ Microwave is a more effective and modern way to design and display your Broadband or Microwave Network in 3D using the Google Earth™ platform. 4G Unwired engineers have designed SkyView™ Microwave to better analyze line of sight between proposed locations and to improve Site Selection. SkyView™ MicroWave can design licensed or unlicensed radio paths in any frequency band and can also store and display your entire Network including all Path Data and Link Budgets. And because it uses Google Earth™, .KMZ files can easily be shared between employees at offices worldwide.
  • Easily Design New Microwave or Broadband Radio Paths or Add to an Existing System
  • Import Existing Sites or Entire Networks with ease using our Import Assistant
  • Path Budget and Reliability calculations are made automatically
  • Path Profiles are automatically created and displayed for each path along with Key Site and Path Information
  • Add new sites and check Fresnel Zone and path clearance visually in 3D in Google Earth™ or in the 2D Path Profile Viewer
  • Enter obstructions such as trees, buildings, or other towers and design for clearance
  • Easily move sites, increase antenna centerlines or change other site technical specifications and immediately see the results in Google Earth™
  • Print your path data and power budgets for the entire system or a single hop
  • Site Techincal Specs, RF Budget, Radio & Antenna data, and path profile with obstructions are stored in each site’s information bubble in Google Earth™

SkyView Microwave 4.1 Release New Features

1.   Path Refraction feature that allows user to configure the K factor for each path in the Import file. Paths with K factor greater than 1 appear as a curved LOS in Google Earth. However, the Path Profile chart shows LOS as straight line with the Earth curvature different for different K factors. The new “K Factor” column is automatically added to existing Import files and the default value is set to 4/3 or 1.33. K factor values for each path are shown in balloons and printed on charts and reports.

2.   Distance Tick Marks have been added to a path along the ground under the LOS. This feature is designed to help the user judge the distance between LOS and ground and the distance to Site A. These can be turned on/off using the checkboxes in the Google Earth sidebar. The tick marks are only visible when zoomed in. The increment value can be changed from the main screen. There is also a validation check for path length to catch typos in the import file values, such as a missing coordinate sign that can cause the program to hang.

3.   Path Colors configurable to any number of colors and any field in the Import file. On the Google Earth sidebar, there is a folder for each set of paths of a selected color so user can turn on/off all the paths of a given color. Design Criteria feature now allows user to run a series of criteria with different flagged colors.

4.   Bulk Print to PDF all the selected path profile charts and link budgets as separate bookmarked pages in a single PDF document. Formatting and color coding is the same as in the Google Earth balloons.

5.   Show DEM File Boundaries using a single click that generates a KML file for all DEM files found in the user selected terrain file folder and makes is easier for the user to find which sites are outside of the current area of terrain files.
