With the need for more and more fiber, greater speeds, and DWDM / CWDM; Fiber Characterizations are a must.

Millennium Networks provides Fiber Characterization and Spectral Characterization Services.

DWDM, CWDM, and OC-192 network equipment providers require line characterizations to insure proper engineering of equipment.  For 10G, 40G, and 100G it is an absolute must.

If you would like a quote for your Fiber Spans please 951-776-0591 or email to Rick.Sommers@MNInc.biz

In order to quote effectively and efficiently, the following information is requested:

·         # Fibers per Span

·         # Spans

·         Access during day or night

·         Approximate Length of Spans

·         Connector types

·         Best Fly in Location

The following are the Fiber Characterization and Spectral Characterization tests performed:

1. Bi-directional OTDR measurements at the following wavelengths: 1550nm and 1625nm

2. Bi-directional loss readings at the following wavelengths: 1550nm and 1625nm

3. Optical Return Loss (ORL) readings at 1550nm

4. Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) readings at 1550nm

5. Chromatic Dispersion (CD) readings from 1520nm to 1620nm in 10nm increments

6. Uni-directional Spectral measurements over the following wavelengths: 1450nm to 1625nm

Preliminary on-site test results communicated in real time via the Lead Technician.

Final report delivered within 5 business days after the completion of the job detailing:

In addition to the tests listed above, we are compliant with the following procedures:

1. Proper equipment setup and referencing

2. Visual inspection of connector terminations and fiber assignments

3. Standard cleaning practices in order to facilitate proper testing

4. Up-to-date calibrated equipment
